Friends Nestle Toll House Nutella Cookie Stack

Making Cookies Inspired by TV Shows, Part 6: Friends! There is a classic episode of Friends where Monica requests Phoebe’s grandma’s cookie recipe as an engagement gift. Phoebe no longer has the recipe, and only has one cookie left that was made with the recipe. Monica tries the last cookie and makes several test cookies to try and replicate the recipe. With no luck, Monica quizzes Phoebe again when Phoebe remembers her grandma got the recipe from her grandma, “Nestle Toulouse”. The friends quickly realize that the recipe was simply the recipe on the back of a bag Nestle Toll House chocolate chips!

The Nestle Toll House recipe is a classic recipe and I had to make them. ALSO since I didn’t add nuts to the cookies, I added an extra 1/4 cup of flour to the cookies! So that’s what’s reflected in the recipe below.

Also, the Nutella mousse idea and recipe is modified from Half Baked Harvest. I’ve loved this recipe for a long time so I had to pair it with the Nestle cookies!

Friends Nestle Toll House Nutella Cookie Stack

Ingredients

Nestle Tollhouse Cookies

  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate chips

Nutella Mousse (Recipe modified from Half Baked Harvest)

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup nutella
  • 4 cups heavy cream

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375. combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. In a larger bowl, combine the butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla and mix until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well in between each.
  • Gradually add in flour mixture, then add chocolate chips. Mix until it just comes together. Using a medium cookie scoop, scoop 12 cookies to a baking sheet. Bake them for 8-11 minutes, until golden brown. While they cool, make the mousse.
  • To make the mousse, combine the cream cheese and Nutella in a stand mixer until smooth. Add the heavy cream and mix for a few minutes until stiff peaks form.
  • Once the cookies are cool, begin to layer! Start with a layer of cookies, about 6-8. Then add a large scoop of mousse, about 1 cup. Repeat this process, adding less cookies and mousse as it goes up, to create a mounded look. Put the finished creation in the fridge to set up for at least 3 hours or overnight! Enjoy!
